The result of the Kö-Bogen façade study survey has
been published.
The announcement was made this afternoon in the Planning Pavillion on
Königsallee that the majority of visitors had voted for HPP Architects’ design.
Innofact, the company that carried out the survey said that a majority of 26.8 %
had voted for the idea put forward by the team led by Volker Weuthen.
State capital, Düsseldorf, invited HPP and four other architects to carry out a
facade study for the aboveground portion of the Kö-Bogen. HSBC Trinkaus &
Burkhardt, who will probably bet the end-user of the building collaborated on
the project.
HPP’s design communicates with the city by using transparency to allow
generous visual connection between the unique courtyard garden and the Kö. As Gerhard G. Feldmeyer, managing director of HPP said, "we have
managed to create a synthesis between the rationality of an administrative
building and the poetry of a stonebuilt house.“
