The structure of the new luxury hotel, the Breidenbacher
Hof, is complete. Prominent guests from the worlds of finance, politics and the
media attended the topping-out ceremony on 17 August 2007. The client, Pearl of
Kuwait, the future user, the Capella Hotel Group and Joachim Erwin, Dusseldorf’s Lord Mayor
were also present.
The 5 star plus hotel, designed by HPP Architects, will stand on the western
side of the Königsallee in Düsseldorf and will comprise 100 hotel rooms and
suites on a GFA of 30,500 m² as well as 18 luxury residences, offices and shops
and an underground car park.
The plinth comprises seven storeys set atop which, two
further storeys are set back and topped by two mansard roof storeys. The
Breidenbacher Hof with its light Jura limestone façade makes conscious
reference to the classical style of the many European grand hotels of which it
is set to become one.
HPP Architects began designing the hotel in 2005, the building is set to be
completed in the Spring of 2008.
