As announced today on the press conference of the BLB (the building and real estate property enterprise of North Rhine-Westphalia) HPP has won the first price in the lead construction competition for the police headquarters in Düsseldorf.
17 architects took part in the European, anonymous procedure for the reorganization and expansion of the listed building. An underground parking and the urban development of the surroundings also belonged to the planning task.
The new building integrates itself sensitively into the massive structures of the existing buildings, closes its open yard structure and forms a new address. The architecture of the new building is functional, transparent and flexible and corresponds thereby to the demand for a citizen-orientated and economical authority building. Construction works will begin in 2012.
