After a two-year construction period, ERGO will today celebrate the opening of their new building on Fischerstrasse. The 7-storey, transparent building stands between the “Künstleratelierhaus” and the Golzheimer Cemetery, both historical monuments. This addition to the headquarters in Düsseldorf will provide a further gross floor area of 158,000 m2 above ground with a total of 4,500 work stations. The 170m long building consists of three structures that are linked by two light and airy atria affording generous views of the historical cemetery from the Fischerstrasse. The new building will provide space for 750 work stations as well housing the second computing centre that the insurance group now needs.
