Ludwigshafen’s landmark building with its three-zoned floor plan, distinctive
roof construction and its characteristic perforated facade is a classic example
of office tower block construction. 40 years after completion, it was decided to renovate the façade completely. With the agreement of the Historical Buildings Commission, the original mosaic cladding was replaced by a skin of printed glass. This new façade is better able to withstand tension and thermal stress; the homogenous colour does not alter the overall impression of this tower
block that is so deserving of its monument status.
