Since it was erected in 1936, this building has had a checkered and largely unpleasant history. However, instead of yielding to an assessment which encouraged the structure’s demolition, the historic challenge that this building represented was taken up. The final solution respected the historic phases of the building and retained its structural geometry, and above all it took care of repairs which had been put off for decades.
