The Stahlhof, which was built by Paul Bonatz in the 1920s, underwent a series of structural changes in the late 1990s that were necessitated in part by damage caused during the First World War. The renovation project especially pursued the goal of retaining the aesthetic and historical value of the landmark-protected building. In this effort, the exterior and parts of the interior design were re-
created by rigorously following Bonatz’s original plans while the floor space was simultaneously upgraded.
